Early 20th Century American Milk Glass Pendant Light Fixture

Early 20th Century American Milk Glass Pendant Light Fixture

$3,800.00

This is the kind of lighting that stops the conversation. An exceedingly rare early-19th-century American pendant, it survives in a configuration most examples lost generations ago. The wide, flat milk-glass disc—familiar and often encountered—hovers above an inverted, elongated milk-glass dome shaped like an acorn, a form so fragile that it was usually the first casualty of time, gravity, or one careless hand. We have never seen another example retaining its original dome.

Three brass prongs cradle the glass with quiet authority, their warm patina echoed in the brass downrod and canopy. The contrast is perfect: disciplined metal against glowing opacity. When lit, the fixture throws light both outward and downward, creating a layered, atmospheric wash that modern lighting rarely achieves.

Originally made for utility, it now reads as sculpture. Newly wired for the U.S. and ready to hang, it offers the rare opportunity to live with a true lighting survivor—complete, intact, and almost never found this way.
