Early 20th Century American "Chiropractor" Sign

Early 20th Century American "Chiropractor" Sign

$1,850.00

Own a piece of Wisconsin's history with this early 20th century hand-painted sign from an early 20th-century chiropractor's office. The sign, found in a barn in the heart of Wisconsin, features a classic black background adorned with bold, radiant yellow letters spelling out "CHIROPRACTOR." This panel was part of larger sign, presumably naming the practitioner, but we found it as is.

Dating back to the era around the historic case of "State of Wisconsin vs. Shearer" in 1907, this sign holds even greater historical importance. During the trial, the defendant, a chiropractor named Shearer, faced charges for practicing medicine without a license. The favorable outcome of the case contributed to the recognition of chiropractic as a legitimate healthcare profession in Wisconsin and for the first time in the United States.

This handcrafted relic stands as a testament to the enduring legacy of chiropractic's impact on Wisconsin's history, serving as a timeless symbol of healing and hope for generations past and present.
