Set of Four 19th Century English Hunt Trophy Lithographs

Set of Four 19th Century English Hunt Trophy Lithographs

$4,800.00

A timeless set of four 19th-century English framed lithographs by Raphael Tuck & Sons, and designed by the esteemed artist Helena Maguire. Renowned for inventing the post card industry as we know it, Maguire's meticulous attention to detail breathes life into each depiction of these hunt trophies. From the graceful Hare to the vibrant Pheasants, the rare Capercartzie to the ubiquitous Mallard Ducks, every image captivates with its stunning realism, seemingly suspending each bird in space. Printed prior to 1893, before Raphael House earned the prestigious Royal Warrant of Appointment from Queen Victoria, these lithographs carry a unique historical significance. Sadly, Raphael House was bombed during the blitz of December 29th, 1940, and the entire factory, including all the original artworks and seventy-four years of documents were destroyed.

Adorn your hunting lodge or country cottage with these exquisite artworks, each a testament to a bygone era of English craftsmanship and tradition. Perfect for aficionados of fine art and lovers of vintage charm alike.
