Early 20th Century American Arts & Crafts Table Lamp
There’s a particular honesty to the American Arts and Crafts movement—an insistence that beauty begins with the hand, the hammer, and the integrity of the material. This early 20th-century table lamp captures that philosophy with quiet authority.
A conical hammered copper shade hovers above the socket, suspended from a carved and hammered iron arm that rises in a graceful arc from the base. Time has transformed the copper into something far richer than its original finish—a deep, moody verdigris that gives the shade an almost painterly surface.
Below, the base stands firmly on four hammered iron legs that extend outward before curling gently at the feet. The iron has developed a beautifully mellow patina, dark and soft from decades of age and use.
Electrified for the United States, the lamp casts a focused pool of light beneath its canopy—ideal on a desk, side table, or reading corner. An object where craftsmanship and atmosphere meet.
